Since I could hold a paintbrush, Art has been the driving force in my life.  I studied at Kutztown University and received my BS in Art Education and became a Visual Art teacher in Harrisburg School District and Northern York County School District.  I have studied in London and in Greece and have taken many graduate level classes

Since retiring I have devoted my time to my painting.  I enjoy the challenge and free feeling that I get from watercolors.  Painting with watercolors en Plein air has a unique challenge, to allow the light to shine through on the paper, not adding it after the painting is done.

I am a member of Daily Painters of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, Baltimore Watercolor Society (signature status). Carlisle Arts Learning Center,Mechanicsburg Art Center and President of the Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters.  I have been juried into Art of the State PA 2013 and Keystone National Works on Paper in 2012 and 2013.  I have had several solo shows and have participated in many group shows.  I feel I have accomplished quite a bit in the few years since retiring from teaching, but there is so much more to do and so much more to paint.
